A lie.

A made up story? A verb, to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive

If I've told myself something so many times and believe it to be true, can it still be a lie?

If I've told myself something so many times and you were there with me but you see the situation differently in your eyes - who's story is a lie?

You know sometimes we just ask the wrong questions... a lie is based on intent.

Intent is everything. It's all about the intent.

I just started watching The Spiderwick Chronicles on Roku TV.

I don't know if it's siblings, parents and siblings so don't mind me

the sister says to her mother the boy was in the market getting in trouble like always

mother says to be kind as we learn they are relocating to get him some mental health care

he says he was being inconsiderate and some other things... to smooth out the situation in a loving or manipulative kind of way you be the judge

Moments later a lady come out of the store accusing the boy of stealing some gum

the boy said he didn't steal it

his siblings come to his defense, his brother first... guess the boy doesn't like gum

he pulls out his pants pockets and they are empty

seems reasonable enough, right? or does it?

the girl reluctantly says ok and walks off saying sorry

moments later the boy admits to his brother he did in fact steal the gum

and he planted the gum on his brother

A lie.

Intention to deceive.

Perception to understand.

A mental impression.
