green with envy
“I thought racism was over” 9 year old black girl
racism
behavior or attitudes that reflect and foster this belief : racial discrimination or prejudice
my 9 year old niece’s assessment of the movie
(life) in the first 30 minutes
to the girl’s who’ve felt green their whole life 🖤
to me …who still feels green
because I think differently
because I dress differently
because I walk with God differently
and I ponder the blues and the pink
pink stood out but pink was acceptable when really she was / had villain tendencies
green, well… she was green, heart posture, chakra green, kind at all times
until she wasn’t …as she struggled with her gift
she was born a “bastard child”
her father wasn’t her mothers husband
her mother had committed adultery
and she was born green
she honored her father even tho she knew he didn’t love her like he loved her sister
she protected her sister
she just wanted to be seen, as a human
but the clicks of blue
and the pink
I can’t help but think:
When was the last time you broke someone—not with your hands, but with your heart? With your judgment? With the quiet dismissal of who they are because they look, love, live, talk or walk differently than you?
We make assumptions. We label people green, blue, or pink. We decide who is good, acceptable, or villainous based on how they appear or move through the world. But who are we to say? Who gave us the authority to define what is right and what is worthy? If you’ve never met the Creator face-to-face, how do you know what his whisper is to someone else’s spirit?
How do you know that their green way isn’t divine?
The green girl didn’t waver. She loved beyond her pain. She forgave beyond the judgment. She saw goodness even when none was shown to her. But at what cost?
So, I leave you with this: The next time you feel the urge to judge, to label, to dismiss—pause. Reflect. Ask yourself if what you’re about to say or do will break someone whose only “wrong” is being different from you. Because the Creator speaks to us all differently, in colors we may never fully understand.
And perhaps… the green ones are closer to God than we know???
I stand in my truth.

Write on, Kisha. I haven't seen that movie yet. I know I saw this YouTube video where they were saying that if you're truly a "CHRISTIAN", you shouldn't watch this movie. I'm very much conflicted.
