…how it started

As I meditated on the cards for our sister circle, Spirit spoke of transformation, strength, and the journey of growth through challenges. The cards lay out a story not just for the group as a whole, but for each of us individually.

Here’s what came through:

We begin with the Five of Pentacles. The number five speaks to change, to transition. With five women RSVP’d, it feels like Spirit is inviting us to step into a transformative space together. The snow and brick wall remind us of hardship. The times when we feel like we’re on the outside, disconnected or struggling. Yet the colors black and purple remind us of protection and royalty, urging us to lift our heads and recognize that even in adversity, we are surrounded by divine support. The yellow and orange remind us of hope and action. There is light and warmth, even when we feel cold or lost. It’s about not looking down, but up, to see the path Spirit is guiding us toward.

Next, the Queen of Wands sits strong and confident. She reminds us of the power that comes from standing tall in who we are. The lions symbolize courage, and the sunflower represents optimism and growth. This queen tells us to embrace our strength, even when we feel the weight of hardship. The panther speaks to intuition and mystery, reminding us to trust in our inner knowing. The Queen of Wands calls us to claim our personal power with grace and confidence.

The Ten of Pentacles Reversed shows a disruption in stability. Perhaps in family dynamics or financial security but even in this reversed state, it offers a lesson: when things feel upside down, how do we find balance? It invites us to examine what has been lost, not as a failure, but as a stepping stone to rebuilding. It reminds us that through effort and intention, we can take what feels broken and make it whole again.

Then comes the Eight of Pentacles, a card of rebuilding, of growth. It shows us the process of learning, refining, and committing to the work of self-development. Where the reversed Ten of Pentacles seemed to take something away, the Eight of Pentacles gives us a new opportunity. A chance to focus on our skills, our passions, and our dedication to creating something meaningful. The polka-dot socks remind us of individuality, the unique imprint we leave on the world.

Finally, the Fool Reversed speaks to fear. It acknowledges the hesitation we feel when faced with new beginnings. The reversal reminds us of the moments when doubt creeps in, when we question whether we’re ready to take the next step. Yet the Fool also teaches us that fear is part of the process. The beauty of reversals is that they can be turned right side up. The message is clear: while fear may accompany us, it doesn’t have to control us. The journey ahead requires faith and a willingness to step forward, even when we can’t see the entire path.

The cards tell a story of challenge, growth, and transformation. They remind us that even in hardship, we are protected and capable of growth. The Queen of Wands asks us to stand strong, the Eight of Pentacles urges us to build with intention, and the Fool encourages us to step forward, even if it’s with trembling feet. Together, these messages are a reflection of where we are and a guide for where we’re headed.

…how it ended

Oracle Story: Growth, Rest, and Reflection

Once upon a time, in a small garden nestled between two hills, there grew a variety of plants—each unique, vibrant, and full of potential. Among them was a young sunflower named Sol, eager to grow tall and bask in the sun’s light. Sol’s journey began with watering—a daily habit of speaking life into herself and those around her. “You are strong, you are growing, and you are enough,” she would whisper to the soil. The color yellow radiated from her petals, a symbol of encouragement she hoped to share with others.

But one day, the garden was shadowed by heavy clouds, and Sol whispered, “Not today.” She needed space. Draped in red hues and guarded by her sunglasses, she allowed herself to retreat, holding her white notebook close. “Flowers bloom when the sun returns,” she reminded herself. She sipped from her wine glass and waited, knowing she had to show up, even briefly, before retreating again.

As time passed, Sol began to notice how she often gave away too much of her heart, too quickly. She realized she needed to be displaced to hold her heart close and honor its worth. It was a lesson in balance. On those days, Sol would lean on prayer, whispering, “Peace, be still.” The words wrapped around her like a comforting breeze, reminding her to pause and connect with her source of strength.

One night, the moon rose high, and the garden hushed. Sol heard a voice, soft yet firm, reminding her of the importance of rest. “Sleep now,” it said, “and let tomorrow bring its own blessings.” It wasn’t just physical rest she needed but rest for her soul a chance to let go of fixing everyone and everything. The voice continued, “You can’t always be the fixer, Sol. Some things must be left to grow on their own.”

But Sol’s journey didn’t end there. The garden whispered once more, “Train yourself, dear sunflower. Growth requires effort and reflection. Embrace your past, be present in your now, and plan for your future. Do not let anyone question your worth or strength.”

With those words, Sol stood taller, her golden petals brighter than ever. She realized growth wasn’t just about basking in the light but also about nurturing herself in the shade. Her decisions became more deliberate, her heart more guarded yet open to love, and her spirit aligned with the wisdom of the garden.

And so, Sol grew

not in haste but with grace, knowing

her journey was her own

and

her light would shine in its time.
